Background:
Savon Davis is a writer, organizer and father of one who’s been locked up in the Toledo Correctional Institution for more than ten years. In that time, he’s written two novels, countless poems and articles, and worked tirelessly with his incarcerated comrades and activists on the outside to fight the cruelty and injustice they face every day at the hands of the prison system. He’s spent years fighting this fight for all of us - now it’s time to give back. He needs your financial support to pursue his case, which was severely mishandled when it initially went to court, and help cover his regular phone, email, and commissary expenses (the prison system pays our incarcerated loved ones slave wages while charging more to fulfill daily needs like food and clothing than the outside world) so he can continue to survive in hostile conditions.
